## How Jess works

Jess is an endorsed clinical psychologist who trained and worked in Canberra's public hospital mental health services. Therapy with her begins with a careful assessment, which shapes a treatment plan agreed with you.

Trauma and PTSD are a main area of her work, and she also works with people experiencing anxiety, low mood, eating and body image concerns, chronic pain and other health conditions. She has a particular interest in neurodiversity, including ADHD. Jess draws on cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), schema therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) skills and psychodynamic therapy, and often combines more than one.

## Questions

### Do I need a referral to see Jess in Rosanna?

You can see Jess with or without a referral. Without one, you book directly, pay the centre's fee and claim from private health extras if your cover includes psychology. With a referral under Medicare's Better Access program, you can claim a Medicare rebate instead. The What to expect page explains who can refer you and how many sessions are covered.

### How do I book an appointment in Rosanna?

You can book online through Halaxy, or through Mind Your Health Centre reception on (03) 9965 8903 or at reception@mindyourhealthcentre.com.au. Reception returns voicemails and emails within 48 hours, and can tell you the current fee and the likely out-of-pocket cost.

### Does Jess see children and teenagers in Rosanna?

Yes. Jess sees teenagers and children from about six years old. With younger children, a parent or carer usually attends the first appointment to give background, and later sessions can combine time together and time apart. Families can come directly, without a referral, or with a Medicare referral from the child's GP, paediatrician or psychiatrist.
